Welcome to Troop 849!
Troop 849 is one of the largest Scouts BSA troop for girls in the Clear Lake Area. We started meeting in May 2019. We are linked with Troop 848 for boys who has over 50 years of experience with the scouting program and a large collection of equipment for the girls to use.
We meet and camp separately from Troop 848, but do some of the same campout activities together.
We meet every Tuesday 7:00pm - 8:30pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
All programs are youth run. Although adults help and provide guidance, it is the scouts who determine and lead the program’s activities.
There is a weekend campout every month except for summer camp in June or July and winter camp in December. Monthly campouts and winter camp are generally within a 2-5 hour radius of Clear Lake. Summer camp is out-of-state to some of the best camps in the in the country in Georgia, Colorado, and Tennessee.
